Surabhi Pathak has done her M.B.A. in Oil and Gas Management from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun and B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. She has provided services as Consultant in the area of Oil and Gas Pipelines. She also has worked as an Assistant Marketing Manager for India Oil and Gas Review Summit and International Exhibition (IORS) and on the Oil and Gas Journal of Oil Asia Publications Pvt. Ltd. At CESD she is working on Energy and Sustainability Consulting, Training and Capacity Building, Report Writing and Presentation, Project of Energy Management Systems ISO 50001:2011 at DMRC New Delhi, developing NATCOM GHG emission inventory for IPPU sector for MoEFCC.
Shweta has done her M.Tech in Energy Studies & Environment Management from Centre for Energy Studies, IIT Delhi and B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering (farm machinery and power management) from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttrakhand. Her overall working experience is above 6 years. She has contributed her domain knowledge & skills in the areas of carbon advisory services mainly clean development mechanism, energy efficiency in products and processes with the State Designated Agency (SDA), Delhi, UJALA Scheme, Perform Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme, accreditations of energy management systems and star rating of buildings, investment grade energy audits, etc. She has also worked in the area of renewable energy like designing and implementation of Delhi Solar Policy, Waste to Energy, Renewable Purchase Obligations, Demand Side Management, Energy Conservation Building Code, trainings and consultation in the development of Green House Gas Inventory, NATCOM (Biennial Updated Report 3 - Third National Communication).
Naresh Badhwar has the experience of over 20 years in regulatory body, consultancy and certification companies. He has diverse experience of working in areas such as climate change mitigation, environmental management, sustainability and energy management. Being a BEE Certified Energy Auditor, he has carried out energy audits and validation/verification and technical reviews of more than 100 GHG projects which are registered in UNFCCC. At CESD he is involved in climate change portfolio which comprises CII Climate Change Council, consulting in carbon neutrality and GHG emission inventory development and training. During his stint in the regulatory body, he was involved in several policy-level decision making on air quality management. He is also a tutor for several training programmes such as Energy Management Systems (ISO 50001:2011), GHG Emission Inventory (ISO 14064). He is a B.Tech., Masters of Science and an MBA in finance. Moreover, he has executed projects in renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste management, industrial emission inventory, GHG emission inventory, waste heat recovery power plants in several industries.
Adnaan holds an M.Phil. and M.S.W. He is a development professional having work experience at National CSR Hub, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and H.E.L.P Foundation. His areas of work are proposal evaluations and proposal formulations, conducting baseline, needs assessment and impact assessment studies. He has worked for Public Sector Enterprises such as NBCC, CIL, CCL, GRSE, HPCL, MDL, REC, and BCCL. He has also coordinated the prestigious “SWACH BHARAT ABHIYAN” project for CCL under which more than 12,000 toilets were constructed across few states of India. Adnaan has total work experience of six years. His interests are loves music, driving and horse riding. He has also presented a paper in a national seminar in 2011 titled “Save Girl Child” held at Vikram University, Ujjain by UGC.
Anil is B.Sc. (Hons.) Statistics from Ramjas College, University of Delhi. He has worked with German Management Consulting firm, Maier +Vidorno GmbH for 17 months where he was engaged in preparing market research reports, short industry profiles, database research & analysis, etc. He also worked as a Trainee with Gray Matters Capital for four months.
At CESD, Anil works as research analyst for Sustainable Plus Label. His hobbies are numismatics, painting, cricket, listening to Music.
Archith holds a B.A. Triple major in Economics, Political Science and Sociology from Christ University, Bangalore. At the Centre, Archith is a part of the Corporate Sustainability Management division, where his work includes providing consulting services to companies such as building sustainability strategy/roadmap and sustainability management framework.
Arnab Deb has a Bachelor degree in Mathematics from St Anthony’s College, and a MBA with specialization in Power sector. He embarked on a career at Asian Genco Singapore’s, Indian subsidiary Energy Infratech Private Limited as a project manager for Hydro and Carbon projects. Most recently he worked with Lloyd’s Register as lead auditor for Climate Change, Energy, Sustainability, CSR and Carbon Foot Printing projects. At the Centre he is working on the India Business and Biodiversity Initiative (IBBI).
Ashutosh has multi-disciplinary background vouched by his two bachelor’s degrees; Mineral Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad, and Bachelor of Laws from Delhi University, Delhi, followed by master’s degree in Public Policy from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. He has worked as Executive Director with Transparency International India and specializes in areas such as public procurement, anti-corruption, promotion of ethical practices in organizations. He has conducted various training programmes and has published research papers in public procurement, corporate governance, public policy, integrity pact among others. His work at CESD involves management of project Promotion and Adoption of Responsible Business Practices under the Global Siemens Integrity Initiative.
Banajyotsna has done her post graduation in Environmental Science from Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Environment Education & Research and graduation in Microbiology from Pune University. She previously worked with Hazards Centre and has 7 years of work experience in research and analysis, environment monitoring and impact assessment. Banajyotsna has co-published several papers on environment and climate change. Her work at the Centre involves creating awareness on sustainability among various stakeholders through events.
Deepak Juneja joined (then) Confederation of Engineering Industry in 1990. He completes 25 years of working with CII, evolving with the transformation of the organization.
Deepak has worked in diverse fields and has undertaken varied responsibilities including, travel, tourism, hospitality, office administration, infrastructure development, marketing, and special projects, such as “High Volume Fly-ash Concrete (HVFAC) Technology”.
Deepak has been on the Advisory Board of the Maharashtra Fly Ash Information Centre and has contributed to papers on Fly-ash Concrete to Civil Engineering & Construction journals. During the project duration of three years, he travelled across the country organizing awareness workshops, technical seminars, undertaking research studies with technical institutions and implementing demonstration projects with several construction & cement companies and a number of Government PWD & Municipal departments and DMRC proving the utility, durability and longevity of the HVFAC.
Deepak has been with CESD since inception, leading sustainability outreach activities and branding through conceptualizing and organization of events focusing on Sustainable Development. He has organised various sustainability events in last 10 years reaching out to over 5000 people. He has also been associated with other activities such as Business Leaders Programme in partnership with Cornell University, and had initiated and handled CESD’s in-house magazine “Sustainability Tomorrow” and E-newsletter “Sustainability Outlook” previously.
Deepak is a Bachelor in Tourism from University of Delhi and holds a PG Tourism Diploma.
Japjeet is an MBA graduate from Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University, Canada. She did her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Thapar University, Patiala. She has two years’ project management experience in the public sector, where she initiated and managed a state project on awareness of Intellectual Property Rights among entrepreneurs. She has also done consulting projects for Recycling Council of British Columbia and SolegearBioplastics, Canada. At the Centre, Japjeet is a part of the Corporate Sustainability Management division, where her work includes providing consulting services to companies such as building sustainability strategy/roadmap and sustainability management framework.
Jayashree has been working in the development sector for the past 12 years. She has handled various sustainable projects in different parts of the country on Health and education. She also has a wide experience working with international organizations, NGO’s and Corporate Foundations and handled large scale educational and health campaigns, co-ordinated and implemented programmes on various social issues for the benefit of the marginalized.Jayashree holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Delhi University and has a Post Graduate Diploma in International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights and Refugee Law.At the Centre she is responsible for promoting and managing the CII-ITC Sustainability Awards.
Kamal Sharma has a Masters Degree in Environment Management from GGS IP University and is currently pursuing his MBA from IIT-Delhi. He has around six years of work experience in the domain of Environment Management and Planning, Audits, EHS Permitting Processes, EHS Regulatory Review and Environmental Impact & Risk Analysis. He works with the Centre in the areas of Environmental Policy and Planning, and is familiar with all the developments in the area of Environmental Regulatory Framework in India. Kamal has provided technical and advisory support to a variety of Industrial Sectors including Automotive Ancillaries, Chemicals & Paints Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, Engineering, Industrial Testing Laboratories, Medical & Health Care Products, etc., regarding their legal obligations for Environmental Compliance and Environmental Monitoring.
Kavita is a development sector professional with working experience at CAPART (MoRD), Dr. Reddy's and SEED. She has worked with government and private sector players on different facets of Corporate Social Responsibility and social development. She has worked with clients such as SAIL, NABARD, NIRD, YES Bank, JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd., SAIL, HSBC and CAIRN India, and has experience of desk appraisal, monitoring, skill development, integrated rural village development, baseline study, Quality of Life, impact assessment, and employee engagement projects. She has the knack for monitoring, evaluation and implementation of social development projects.
Neeraj is Accounts, Finance and Administration professional with more than 12 years of experience and abilities in Event/Facility/Travel & Staff management, procurement & maintenance, Financial Management, liasoning and team Building. He also has a wide experience working with leading organisation such as Reliance Industries, Pratham and Pathfinder International. His current responsibilities at CESD include Finance, Accounts & Administration.
Pravir has a master degree in the Botany and pursuing Ph. D. degree from Amravati University, Maharashtra. He has 10 years of experience in the filed for Environmental Impact Assessment, Biodiversity studies, preparation and implementation of Environment Management Plans. His prior professional experience includes working with NEERI, RSET and GMR Hydro for India and Nepal projects. At center he is working for the India Business & Biodiversity Initiative (IBBI), which provide platform to the business to understand there dependencies on the biodiversity and showcase best practices for sustainable management of biodiversity.
Priyanka is a gold medalist in M.Sc. Natural Resource Management (NRM). She did her post-graduation in NRM from University School of Environment Management, GGSIPU, New Delhi. Prior to joining CII, she interned with WWF-India and CII, while pursuing her academics.
At CESD, she works on environment policy and advocacy, with an objective to imbibe the concept of sustainability into mainstream business planning. Her key responsibilities include providing support in specialized projects like GHG inventorization of entire IPPU sector for the purpose of preparation of BUR-2, CII-NITI Aayog: Cleaner Air Better Life Project. She also manages CII-EnCASe: Environmental Compliance & Advisory Services. She also engages with the members of CII-National Committee on Environment (NCE), for seeking their inputs on various environmental issues to further undertake policy dialogue with all concerned stakeholders.
Priyanka Mathur brings to CII analytical experience of 7 years in research and business analysis. She also has 1.5 years of entrepreneurial experience in Food & Beverage industry. At CESD, Priyanka works for Sustainable Plus Label initiative. Priyanka Mathur is PGDBM in Finance & Bachelors in Commerce from Delhi University. She joins us from Evalueserve (Mumbai) and has also worked with Morgan Stanley & Deutsche Bank.
Rajesh has completed his MBA in Power Management from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun and BE in Electrical Engineering from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. He has provided his services as consultant in the areas of Carbon Advisory Services, Energy Efficiency, Energy Management Systems and Green Buildings. He has also worked in the areas of Project Management Consultancy for Renewable Energy Projects from concept to commissioning including Loan Appraisal, Lender’s Engineers and Techno commercial Due Diligence. His experience also includes optimizing & monitoring HVAC Systems and consultancy services for HVAC and IAQ Improvement. Earlier he has worked with Paharpur Business Centre, Wartsila India Ltd and various Energy Consulting Firms. He has worked with clients such as MNRE, CEA, DMRC, DLF Ltd, American Embassy School, Norwegian Embassy, J K Lakshmi White Cement Ltd etc for various consulting projects.
Sachin is an intrapreneur focussed on contributing to the global governance architecture and transforming business ecosystem that provide for 9 bn people within the limits of the planet. He is on a mission to transform business into value innovating entities. He emphatically demonstrates that business that don’t value innovate carry an expiry date with them. In the last 17 years, he has conceptualised, developed and successfully implemented projects and products that now benefit businesses and governments. At CESD, Sachin has developed “Sustainable Plus” world's first and only corporate sustainability label; developed innovation property called “Sustainable & Inclusive Innovation or SI2”; and he mentors the CII-ITC Sustainability Awards; incubates India's only comprehensive Annual CSR Tracker. He is approached for ideas on business models and strategy.
Sanaiya has completed her M.Sc in Environment Management for Business from Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom, post her B.A. in Sociology from Sophia College of Mumbai, India. Her experience ranges from working with an environmental agency of the UK government to working with a philanthropic organisation and a consultancy firm in Mumbai. She has also undertaken various voluntary assignments, including participation in a yearlong youth exchange programme in Germany.
Sampada has MSc in Environment Science from Nashik, Maharashtra, and BSc in zoology. Her experience ranges from conservation and restoration of sacred groves, documentation of traditional tribal nature conservation knowledge, and importance of biodiversity in their everyday life to CSR project implementation and HDI study. She has over three years on field experience with BAIF Development Research Foundation, Pune, GOONJ, Delhi, and Non-Water Sanitation, Berlin, a German organization implementing dry toilets in rural India. Her work at CESD involves field visits, baseline surveys, data collection, data management, data analysis and report writing. She is also working on Annual CSR Tracker which involves data recording, management, impact recording, analysis and report writing of companies for their CSR spends as per Companies Act 2013.
Santosh Taneja holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Environment & Sustainable Development, a Masters in Social Work (from JMI, New Delhi) and a B.Sc in Human Development. Her prior professional experience includes working in the CSR department of NTPC Ltd. Santosh is a consultant, trainer and auditor for the Centre on projects related to the Global Reporting Initiative – for example, facilitating the development of Sustainability Reports as per GRI-G3 Guidelines for several companies including NTPC Ltd., BHEL and Apollo Tyres. Santosh is also an evaluator for the Centre’s CSAP training course.
Seema Arora pioneered the creation of services on Environment and Sustainable Development within CII. Her journey with CII began with engaging Indian Industry towards the run up to the Earth Summit in 1992.
Seema Arora works on designing innovative products and frameworks to build the business case for industry to invest in sustainability. She has created several initiatives including the world’s first Corporate Sustainability Label from CESD. As the head of CESD she networks with industry, government and community-based organisations to develop policy instruments and innovative voluntary approaches to sustainable development. She is also providing inputs to defining sustainable development action plans for state governments. Ms Arora provides training and counseling to industry for evolving a sustainability vision and a portfolio of sustainability strategies. Her main areas of interest include environmental policy, management systems, corporate sustainability, institutional strengthening and capacity building.
Seema Arora is a member of the Stakeholder Council of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Governance for Sustainability, external review panel for Sustainability Reporting for several global companies, and Polaris Committee of FBN (Family Business Network) International. She is a Bachelor’s in Engineering from Delhi University.
Shikhar Jain has over 20 years of experience working with variety of industries, where he has designed, implemented and integrated Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety and Social programs/management systems in over 100 individual facilities and for corporate-wide operations. Shikhar has developed and implemented best practices for several top Indian firms, including in areas of improved operational efficiency, good EHS practices and enhanced compliance management.
Shreya Dutta received a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration at Amity University, Noida. Her coursework involved studying abroad in both the US and the UK, during which time she conducted research on the retail sectors in both countries. Shreya’s professional interest is in human resource management and manpower planning, and she plans to pursue an MBA in this specialisation in the future while pursuing her degree, she interned with CII. She joined the Centre upon graduation, where she participates in administering its training and consulting programmes.
Supriya is a publishing professional whose career and expertise in the field of academic publishing spans more than 10 years. At CESD, she is responsible for producing quality content for its stakeholders by ensuring internal streamlining and adherence of processes towards regular and new publications.
During her decade long stint in publishing, she worked on books of high academic quality and rigour authored by stalwarts such as, Amartya Sen, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Pranab Bardhan. Her association for various books and reports with some of the most reputed institutions in the world include NITI Aayog (the then Planning Commission of India), The World Bank, Princeton University Press (UK), Infrastructure Development Finance Company Limited (IDFC), Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), National Institute of Labour Economics Research and Development (formerly Institute of Applied Manpower Research) and so on.
Desire to learn and address issues related to gender inequality and social development interests her. Supriya obtained both her graduate and postgraduate degrees in Political Science from Gargi College, University of Delhi in 2005 and 2007, respectively. In the past, she worked for Oxford University Press, India and Pearson Education India.
Swati is facilitating companies in India to integrate sustainability in their business functioning. At CESD she is managing and continuously developing recognition product, building capacities of professionals to become sustainability champions and helping their companies or clients become environmentally efficient, socially viable, and economically profitable and develop strong governance mechanisms. She has undertaken wide spectrum of work in research, report writing, content development under CSR, corporate governance, inclusive business, and ESG issues and project management. Prior to CESD she has worked with UBS (now Cognizant Technologies) and WNS in the domain of financial research. She is MBA Finance from ICFAI.
Syamala has a Masters degree in Genetics and a PG Diploma in Genetic Counselling. She has five years of experience in Genetics, Evolutionary Biology and counselling. Her prior professional experience includes working with EPTRI (Environment Protection Training and Research Institute), Kamineni Hospitals and Usha Biotech Pvt. Ltd. She has worked in DST sponsored Indo-Australia project and State government DNA fingerprinting Laboratory. At CESD she looks after Indian Business & Biodiversity Initiative (IBBI) which provides platform to business to understand their dependencies on biodiversity and showcases best practices for sustainable management of biodiversity.
Vijayasudha holds a B.SC in Chemistry from Madras University. She has been with CII for the last 21 years. Before joining the Centre in April 2011 to take on the administrative responsibilities and holding charge of the HoDs office, she was at the Europe desk of the international division of CII. Here she was involved in coordinating the receiving of foreign delegations and facilitating industry exchange programs through conferences, seminars and business meetings and match-making for businesses (setting up one-to-one meetings).
