The CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development has trained more than 1000 professionals on sustainability reporting process since 2007. Course Outline
Module 1: Introduction to Sustainability & GRI Standards; 5 August 2020
Sustainability is global megatrend applicable to all industries and governments. The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is a network-based organization that has pioneered the development of the world’s most widely used sustainability reporting framework and is committed to its continuous improvement and application worldwide since its inception in 1997. The session shall cover introduction to Sustainability and structure of GRI Standards and its linkage to other frameworks.
Module 2: Universal and Topic specific GRI Standards, 7 August, 2020
The session shall cover 37 Universal and Topic Specific Standards under GRI Standards.
Module 3: Defining the Reporting Contents- Materiality & Stakeholder Engagement, 10 August 2020
Stakeholders are expecting more corporate action on the most demanding problems and more access and transparency into what’s behind their sustainability focus. The session shall delve on identification of organization’s most "material issues" and determine what should be reported.
Module 4: Reporting process as per GRI Standards and best cases, 12 August 2020
Participants shall learn to prepare and communicate Sustainability report based on GRI Standards. Course shall cover combination of best practices, case examples and exercises to enable participants to learn the best methods of reporting.
