To acknowledge, reward, and recognize innovations and solutions in the Indian plastic packaging sector, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) through its CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development (CESD) is introducing the CII Sustainable Plastic Packaging Awards. The award recognizes upstream innovations and changes in design of plastic packaging by businesses, driving the transition towards a circular plastics economy in India.

Contribute to the creation of sustainable packaging and a vibrant research and innovation environment for plastic packaging in the country
The main categories of the award are based on the principles of a circular economy:
a. Eliminate: unnecessary or problematic plastic items
b. Innovate: to ensure that the plastics we do need are reusable, recyclable, or compostable
c. Circulate: all the plastics items we use to keep them in the economy and out of the environment.
Two categories, Innovate and Circulate, will be recognised in the 2025 award cycle.
Applicants can submit their entries under any of the four sub-categories: A1, A2, B1, and B2.
Note: Entries for the award should concern packaging placed on the Indian market in the calendar year 2024.
