Mascot धRaa

The CII Sustainability Mascot

At the CII 20th Global Sustainability Summit, held on 2-3 September 2025 in New Delhi, the CII – ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development celebrated two decades of dedicated efforts in bringing sustainability to the collective consciousness of Indian Industry.

The momentous occasion was marked by a new initiative - the launch of the CII Sustainability Mascot धRaa by Shri Bhupender Yadav, Hon’ble Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India. धRaa draws inspiration from the Indian Roller, a vibrant and agile bird native to the Indian subcontinent, renowned for its striking colors, swift flight, and adaptability. This mascot symbolizes Indian Industry’s pioneering leadership in sustainability, embodying resilience, competitiveness, and dynamic progress— qualities essential to thriving in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

Beyond its symbolic value, धRaa represents the next transformative chapter in the Centre’s two-decade journey, championing industry-led innovative and sustainable solutions. Through धRaa, the Centre aims to amplify the promotion of sustainable business practices and innovations, reaching manufacturers, consumers, and stakeholders across India and worldwide. The initiative aspires to nurture a new generation of responsible manufacturers and mindful consumers who are deeply aware of their sustainability footprints and committed to safeguarding our shared global commons.

The launch of the CII Sustainability Mascot not only underscores the Centre’s role as a catalyst for regenerative and responsible industrial growth but also reinforces India Industry’s commitment towards sustainability for fostering inclusive and climate-friendly development for years to come.
