Mr Kingsbury CBE leads the Industrial Climate Solutions business and was the founding CEO of the UK Green Investment Bank (GIB), which he ran from 2012 to its successful sale in 2017.

He is also the Chairman of Renewable Power Capital, a wind and solar company headquartered in London and Madrid which is backed by CPPIB, the Canadian state pension fund. He is also a member of the Board of Stegra, the green steel business that is building a world scale green steel plant in Boden, Northern Sweden.

Prior to GIB, Mr Kingsbury CBE had a long track record as a private equity investor in sustainable investing and has co-founded and served as a director of a number of clean energy and green mobility businesses.

He received a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from the University of Ulster.

Mr Rajnish Kumar completed his 3 years term as chairman in October 2020. He is credited with steering the bank successfully through very challenging times. During his tenure, Bank developed YONO, a digital platform, which has established bank as a global leader in adoption of technology and innovation. 

Mr Kumar is a career banker with nearly 4 decades of service with State bank of India. His expertise in corporate credit and project finance is well recognized. He served the bank in various capacities across the country including in the Northeast as Chief General Manager. He successfully managed UK operations of the Bank immediately after the crisis caused by the collapse of Lehman Brothers. Earlier he worked as Vice President (Credit) at Toronto. 

Mr Kumar was also the Chairman of SBI’s subsidiaries, important ones being, SBI Life Insurance Company Limited, SBI Foundation, SBI Capital Markets Limited, and SBI Cards & Payments Services Limited. He also served as Director on the boards of various organizations, viz. Export- Import Bank of India, Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, National Institute of Bank Management, Pune, Indian Banks’ Association, Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, among others. 

He is currently serving as an independent director on the Boards of many prestigious companies like HSBC Asia Pacific, Hongknong, Amuja Cements Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Hero Motorcorp Ltd, Brookprop Management Services Pvt Ltd and Mastercard India. He is also Non-Executive Chairman of Resilient Innovations Pvt Ltd. (BharatPe), one of the fastest growing Fintech in the country and Independent Director on the Board of Lighthouse Communities Foundation & Multiples Equity Fund Trustee Pvt Ltd. Mr Kumar is also an advisor with BPEA Equity Pte Ltd. apart from being Chairman, of the Board of Governors, Management Development Institute, Gurugram. 

Born in January 1958, Mr Kumar has done M.Sc. in Physics from Meerut University and is also a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).

Prof. Amit Garg is the NIIF Chair in ESG (Environment, Social & Corporate Governance) within the Public Systems Group at IIM Ahmedabad. Holding a PhD (Fellow) from IIMA and an MTech from IIT Roorkee. He specializes in energy, climate change and sustainable development issues and offers courses titled Carbon Finance, Managing Energy Businesses, Sustainable Finance, Energy and Environment Policy, and Public Management. His current research interests include carbon and climate finance, energy businesses, corporate accounting of greenhouse gases, energy and environment modeling, water-energy nexus, and preparing businesses for climate change challenges.

Prior to joining IIMA, Prof Garg worked as Senior Economist at UNEP Risoe Centre, Technical University of Denmark. He has worked on a large number of research and consulting assignments for international and Indian organizations including IEA, the World Bank, ADB, UNDP, UNEP, USAID, the European Union, UK government, German Government and Government of India’s Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Agriculture, University Grants Commission, and many state governments.

Prof. Amit Garg serves on several high-level national and international committees in the domains of sustainability, climate risk, and sustainable finance. His current roles include membership in the India Sustainability Task Force (CII), the RBI’s Climate Risk Information System Expert Group, the NITI Aayog Task Force on Macroeconomic Implications of Transition, the Goa Blended Climate Finance Facility Working Group, and the Monitoring Committee for CSIR’s E3OW theme. He is also Mentor to the Advisory Group on Climate Risk & Sustainable Finance at the Institute of Actuaries of India and serves on the Board of Advisory Council for NTPC Green Energy Ltd, the Scientific Advisory Board for Renault Group, and the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group Expert Committee under Brazil’s presidency.

He has co-authored 12 books, 25 international research reports and published extensively in international journals. He is a Lead Author for five reports of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He is currently the Co-Editor-in-Chief of Carbon Management journal.

Prof Garg was felicitated by the Prime Minister of India in 2007 for his outstanding contributions to climate change research. He was also a prominent member and contributed to the award of Nobel Peace Prize to IPCC in 2007. He received the Distinguished Young Professor Award for Excellence in Research at IIMA in 2010 and Outstanding Researcher Award at IIMA again in 2016.

Ms Kromjong currently is member of the Board and chair of the Stakeholder Advisory Board of APSCA   (Association for Social Compliance Auditing) driving professionalism, integrity and credibility in social compliance audits.

Col (Dr.) Bharat Sharma is a veteran from Indian Army & specialist in Renewable Energy and Sustainability. He holds a doctorate and multiple degrees, including M.Tech. from IIT Delhi in Industrial Tribology & in Aeronautical Engineering from AirForce Technical College.

Having served in Indian Army for 31 years, in the “Corps of Electronics & mechanical Engineers”, he then worked with leading companies like Enercon India Pvt. Ltd, Powercon Ventures India Pvt. Ltd and Centre of Renewable Energy (CORE) at Director level. Currently, he is Executive Director of POWERCON Group of Companies.

Mr. Sreekumar is the Chief Sustainability Principal and Head of Sustainability Business for SAP Asia Pacific region, based out of Singapore. He is responsible to drive SAP APJ’s efforts to both lead by example and enable our customers when it comes to sustainability. He is spearheading go-to-market efforts, developing thought leadership, and supporting strategic customer sustainability engagements in the region for SAP’s sustainability products, solutions, and
prioritisations for delivering true impact to customers and helping them reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 1 billion Tons by 2025.

With his 25 years on experience working across industries and consulting organizations across the globe, he is strongly focused on creating the link between environmental outcomes and business performance which is essential to both SAP’s success and customers’ ability to make profitability sustainable and sustainability profitable.

Dr. Abhinav Mathur is a distinguished alumnus of Netaji Subhash University of Technology with a PhD in Computer Technology from IIT Delhi and an MBA from IIM Lucknow. With over three decades of experience in global leadership roles across government, corporates, entrepreneurial ventures, and non-profits, he has consistently championed societal impact and sustainable development. 

As an advisor to the board at Attero, India’s leading deeptech electrical, electronics and Lithium-ion battery waste recycling company, Dr. Mathur leverages his deep expertise in technology and strategic leadership to drive the organization’s circular economy initiatives.

His focus is helping ensuring the development of a scalable, sustainable model that align industry practices with environmental and national goals. Dr. Mathur has a proven track record of leading large teams and delivering state-of-the-art technology solutions. His role in policy formulation at Niti Aayog, where he served as Senior Advisor, and his contributions to initiatives by the Prime Minister’s office underscore his commitment to national development. 

In addition to his corporate and advisory roles, Dr. Mathur is the founder of Million Sparks Foundation, a non-profit focused on enhancing education through lifelong learning and capacity building for teachers. Under his leadership, the foundation has impacted over 40 million children across India, supported by partnerships with global organizations like Google.org and Microsoft. 

Dr. Mathur’s contributions during the COVID-19 crisis, where he played a key role in raising and deploying significant funds for critical relief efforts, further highlight his leadership and dedication to societal well-being.

Dr Nandini Kumar is principal consultant at the Confederation of Indian Industry, and has a doctorate in atmospheric chemistry and a master’s degree in environmental chemistry. At the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development, she initiated work in circular economy and resource efficiency and has led this activity for over seven years now. 

At the Centre, this team works at the interface of policy, business and science, with the aim of providing data-backed scientific evidence for business and policy decisions.  The India Plastics Pact, launched on the 3rd of September, is the portfolio’s most exciting, current venture. It focuses on identifying gaps, challenges and solutions in the plastic packaging value chain which helps to enable a dynamic and ambitious EPR policy.

Before joining CII, she was a faculty member and researcher at TERI University, New Delhi, for over a decade, and was a Fulbright scholar in 2012 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, pursuing a keen interest and belief in systems thinking and system dynamics. 

Dr. Sandip Chatterjee is a leading global policymaker & experienced techno-administrator with 35 years of experience in translating research outcomes into commercial viability and disruptive policy-making.

Dr. Chatterjee is a visionary leader, who has consistently delivered on strategic innovation, international policy negotiations and advocacy. He is a global expert on materials, electronic waste, circular economy and resource efficiency, with over 60+ research and review publications, 10+ patents, 5+ book chapters and an extensive public speaking experience of 1000+ engagements. Received President’s award from Former Hon’ble President of India in 2013 for his work.

Currently, he is promoting global best practices on sustainable electronics including longer product life, responsible refurbishing and recycling standards, ITAD, data sanitization with SERI. He is also Adjunct Professor at IIT Mandi School of Materials and Mechanical Engineering.

He strategizes R&D in materials, photonics, IoT sensors, additive manufacturing for successful commercialization and created a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, engaging industries and State government. He has established pan-India 22+ Centres of Excellence in emerging technologies like quantum materials, graphene, 2D materials, E-waste and 3D printing etc.

Dr. Chatterjee has formulated India’s policy roadmap on additive manufacturing, circular economy and resource efficiency. He also led the formulation of India’s digital data protection policies. Besides, also headed the Cyber Law and Data Governance Group and formulated DPDP Act, amendment of IT Act, IT Rules etc.

Served as Officer on Special Duty to Secretary, Govt. of India, advising the Secretary on technical, administrative, financial and legal matters, for seamless Ministry functioning. Represented Indian policy interests in the United Nations, European Union, Wassenaar Arrangement, as also, in bilateral forums with European countries: Hungary, Romania, Armenia etc. Drafted ICT policies for Colombia & Suriname on foreign deputation.

Besides, also served electronic component industry, a color picture-manufacturing company at M/s. JCT Electronics, Gujarat on design, R&D, new product development, indigenization, process improvements etc.

Masters in science (Physics) from Univ. of Calcutta and Doctorate from Univ. of Delhi, his research work was on rare earth oxides and rare earth oxysulfide phosphor materials from National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi. He is keen to explore opportunities with research commercialization for emerging technologies, entrepreneurial mentorship and policy advocacy.

With an experience spanning over 17 years as a Sustainability Operations & Impact Management professional, in realms of both corporate (Infosys, RICOH) and social innovation (Ashoka, Wadhwani Foundation) sectors, his skills lie in design, development and deployment of shared value-creating economic models based on principles of respect, responsibility, resilience and regenerative systems.
Recognized as the Sustainability Influencer of the Year 2024 by BusinessWorld media house, he has a comprehensive background in sustainability, encompassing areas such as strategy, governance, operations, stakeholder engagement, ESG reporting, and sustainability marketing. His work with social innovation organizations includes significant contributions to technology-driven employment generation in emerging economies through large-scale entrepreneurship and skilling ecosystem development projects.
During India’s G-20 presidency in 2023, he was a B20 member of the “ESG in Business” action council and the “Future of Work, Skilling & Mobility” task force. As an industry representative, he actively participates in consultative committees and workgroups formed by industry associations, stakeholder ministries, and Niti Ayog, focusing on policy deliberations related to the environment and circular economy.
A passionate advocate for sustainable development, Mr Sharma frequently speaks at internationally renowned forums and serves as a guest faculty member at premier technology and management institutions. Notably, in 2009, BBC World News featured him as a representative of the ‘young generation who make up the new, confident, rising India,’ and in 2010, Business Today highlighted him as a ‘Green Warrior’ in a cover story.
His achievements include being recognized as Most Impactful Sustainability Leader 2024 & ranked amongst the Global 100 list of Impactful CSR leaders by World CSR Congress in 2017, one of the Brightest Young Climate Leaders by Hindustan Times & British Council in 2010 and serving as an Ambassador of One Young World since the same year. He has represented the voice of youth and business at various international sustainability forums, including United Nations Climate Change Conferences in Copenhagen, Cancun, Durban, Rio+20, and more.

Mr Pratyush Sinha is the Vice President of Special Projects at Lohum, India’s largest producer of sustainable critical minerals. At Lohum, he oversees multiple departments including those related to R&D on lithium-ion cell degradation, software development, and market & policy research.

In the past, Pratyush ran an AI startup, building solutions for information management in the financial services industry. He was trained as an electrical engineer at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur from where he earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees.

Mr Lalit Joshi is a Senior Program Manager in Microsoft’s Cloud Supply Chain team, where he leads Scope 3 carbon accounting for cloud hardware and drives the carbon strategy roadmap. With over nine years of experience in sustainability across both consulting and corporate roles, he specializes in carbon accounting, carbon management, and the development of data-driven strategies to reduce environmental impact.

At Microsoft, he works closely with cross-functional global teams to address the embodied carbon footprint of cloud infrastructure, enabling the company to advance its ambitious sustainability commitments. Also contributing to industry-wide discussions on carbon measurement methodologies, data transparency, and circular supply chains.

Mr Joshi holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from the IIT Bombay. Passionate about climate action, he combines technical expertise with strategic insight to advance sustainability innovation in the technology sector”

Mr. Sumanta Chaudhuri is a retired Indian civil servant, having two decades of experience on international trade issues. He was Joint Secretary as well as Director in the Department of Commerce, Government of India and handled Trade Policy Division dealing with WTO issues and Regional and Bilateral trade engagements including leading the negotiations on Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). He handled the India-EU as well as India-EFTA BTIA negotiations and trade relations with South-East Asia. He was India’s Chief Negotiator for the various bilateral and regional agreements in this region, including the India-Malaysia CECA and the India-ASEAN Agreements. He has served as Counselor, Permanent Mission of India to the WTO and was India’s main negotiator on Services in the Doha Round. He was Secretary, Coal, Government of India.

Mr. Chaudhuri has been a resource person in many international forums including WTO, UNCTAD, World Bank, UNESCAP, IOM, and ADB. He has also published articles on trade, particularly on Services issues and FTA’s. He has been a Guest Faculty for several years at various Management and Law Institutes including Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, both at Delhi and Kolkata, Centre for WTO Studies, Delhi and NALSAR, Hyderabad , HNLU Raipur and NUJS, Kolkata.

Currently, he is Principal Adviser, International Trade Policy in Confederation of Indian Industry. 

He is a seasoned professional with 24 years of experience delivering business solutions across various industries, currently specializing as a Principal Advisor for Sustainability Solutions at SAP. Specializes in critical business application areas, including Sustainability, ERP, CRM, SCM, Asset management, and Analytics.

Focus is on integrating sustainability into business strategies and operations, leveraging SAP technologies to achieve demonstrable positive impacts on the environment, society, and the economy.

Mr. Jain is a seasoned business sustainability expert with 30 years of experience in developing, implementing, and integrating ESG best practices for leading Indian and global companies. His expertise includes: 

Engaging in policy dialogue and consultation with government agencies, development organizations, think tanks, and stakeholder groups regarding ESG, climate strategy, circular economy, and strategic importance for corporations throughout their value chains. 

Represented Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in various committees and working groups of: Bureau of Indian Standards, MoEFCC and WBCSD.

Developed international standards such as ISO 26000, GRI G4 Guidelines, and AA 1000 SES on Stakeholder Engagement. He sssisted over 500 companies and has trained over 10,000 professionals on various subject matters. He was nominated as CII representative on the Board of Governors of NSC, Mumbai and served as Board Member for Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board. 

He has an extensive experience in USAID, World Bank, ADB, EU, GIZ donor agency-funded projects on environment and sustainability-related aspects as well as on the G20 Indian Presidency with B20 dialogues on Task Force/Action council for Energy, Climate & Resource Efficiency, and ESG in Businesses 

Mr Gargeshwari has been leading Automotive Axles Limited, a public listed company with a turnover of more than 2200 Cr since April 2022. He has been pivotal in driving remarkable revenue growth and transforming the company culture. His vision led to the implementation of a five-day workweek and the introduction of a gender-neutral hiring process, boosting diversity to 14% in an industry setup at Mysuru. Today, AAL proudly showcases women operating critical equipment and machinery, playing managerial roles in multiple functions.

In 2017, he took on a significant role as Senior Director of Global Product Validation and Materials Engineering at Meritor Inc. in the USA. In this capacity, he successfully led a diverse international team of approximately 220 engineers and technicians, overseeing global test laboratories, materials engineering functions, and the Bangalore Technical Centre.

He began his professional career in 1990 as an engineer at Wipro Infotech Ltd. His career then took him to Singapore, where he worked as an associate engineer in the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering division at Maxtor Peripherals Pte Limited. After returning to India in 1999, he joined Reva Electric Car Company as a senior engineer, eventually moving to Meritor India in 2000. During his tenure at Meritor, he advanced through various managerial roles, including Engineering Manager, Site Manager, and Director of the Bangalore Technical Centre.

Mr Gargeshwari holds an MBA in International Management from ICFAI University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. With over 33 years of extensive experience in the automobile and computer electronics industries, he has built a remarkable career.

His career is distinguished by his global perspective and hands-on experience, having travelled extensively and collaborated across various countries to support product development initiatives. His contributions continue to have a positive impact on the industry.

An alumnus of the prestigious School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, Ms. Vineeta Hariharan worked for a decade in leading private and public sectors of the country. Driven by the aim of becoming a decision-maker rather than an implementer, she pursued further education. She completed her mid-career Masters in Public Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore on a scholarship from the Singapore Government in 2020-11. This proved to be a game-changer as she gained wide international perspective in policymaking. 

Post her training in Singapore, she worked with various multi-lateral and bilateral agencies with the Government of India. She designed national policies and led the implementation of several flagship programmes in domains such as Housing for All, National Rurban Mission (NRuM), Formalisation of Micro Enterprises (PMFME), and Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP).

Utsav Dixit is the head of Strategic Sales Engagement, Recycling & Sustainability at ALPLA India, part of ALPLA Global – a market leader in rigid plastic packaging. He is also a Stand-up comedian and co-founder at Deccan Comedy. He has been a Senior Consultant with Deloitte Consulting LLP having worked for over 6 years in consulting for technology strategy and implementation for Government, Telecom, Hi-Tech, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Healthcare industries. He has also been a contributing Author in Springer 2018 Publication “Divestitures and Spin-Offs – Lessons Learned in the Trenches of the World’s Largest M&A Deals”

Pratibha is the Chief Sustainability Officer at Lucro Plastecycle, where she leads impact-driven initiatives to advance the circular economy in India. With a strong background in sustainability across agriculture and waste management, she drives ESG strategy, waste management innovations, and stakeholder engagement. Her work focuses on responsible business strategies and supporting under-represented groups in the waste sector.

Punit Singhal is the Director of rPET Resin Division at JB ECOTEX LTD, driving the entire rPET resin vertical with a focus on quality and innovation.Punit holds a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and brings valuable international work experience to the table. As the Sustainability Lead at Marico Limited, she drives enterprise-wide ESG integration, embedding circular economy principles, climate action, and responsible value chain practices into core business growth strategies. Known for her ability to convert complex sustainability imperatives into high-impact, innovation-driven solutions, Sreemoyee has collaborated with Fortune 500 organizations globally, steering initiatives in circular packaging innovation, Scope 3 decarbonization, responsible sourcing, extended producer responsibility (EPR) compliance, and transparent ESG reporting. Her strategic guidance has enabled companies to strengthen resilience, achieve regulatory foresight, and unlock new growth opportunities in a rapidly evolving sustainability landscape. 

A Member of India Plastics Pact (IPP)’s Advisory Panel since inception and contributor to the CII Eastern Region Sustainability Committee, she plays a pivotal role in advancing industry-wide circularity by accelerating recycled content adoption, improving packaging recyclability, and fostering collaborative action across value chains. Ms Rhea Mazumdar Singhal is the Founder of Ecoware, India’s first and largest sustainable packaging company. She is a global leader on climate change and inclusive growth, recognized for her contributions to environmental sustainability and women’s economic empowerment. 

She has been honored with the Nari Shakti Puraskar, India’s highest civilian award for women, presented by the President of India. Recognized globally, she was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, an Asia 21 Young Leader by the Asia Society, and Impact Hero 2021 by the Earth Company. She serves as the Chairperson of the Indian Women Network (Northern Region) and is an invited member of several national industry committees dedicated to clean air and women’s empowerment. Her work involves close collaboration with CII and NITI Aayog to advance sustainable consumption and inclusive growth.

Before founding Ecoware, Ms Singhal worked as a senior sales executive at Pfizer Inc. Through Ecoware, she has revolutionized India’s food packaging industry by offering biodegradable alternatives to single-use plastic, driving policy changes, and influencing consumer behavior. 

Ms Singhal is also actively involved in Chemical Systems Technologies (CST), founded by Sunil Singhal, which pioneers circular solutions in the sugar industry. CST’s collaboration with the University of East London led to the creation of Sugarcrete, construction blocks from sugarcane waste, now used in infrastructure projects.  

In addition to her entrepreneurial ventures, Ms Singhal leads partnership efforts at The Udaiti Foundation, championing women’s economic empowerment across India. She is an alumna of the University of Bristol, Oxford, and Harvard University. She continues to drive impactful initiatives at the intersection of sustainability, policy, and inclusion, shaping a greener and more equitable future.

Mr Kelkar has over 15 years of experience in specialized machine building with domain expertise in metalfinishing technologies including Microfinishing and Superfinishing Technologies for Automotive Powertrain and other Precision Engineered components, Robotic Grinding for Castings and Forgings. Instrumental in bringing Grind Master solutions to the world setting up network of sales and service companies in China, Europe and America. Founder and Architect of Grind Master ROBOFINISH range of machines for Grinding/Finishing Ferrous and non-ferrous castings. Strongly believes in empowering people to be successful and leads Grind Master efforts in being a global technology leader in Finishing technologies.

Mr Tarun Jami is the Founder and CEO of GreenJams, a climate-tech company redefining sustainable construction through carbon-negative materials. He is the inventor of the company’s flagship innovation—Agrocrete®, a patented bio-concrete made from agricultural residues and industrial by-products. Agrocrete® delivers high structural strength, thermal insulation, and affordability, while actively removing carbon from the atmosphere.

Under his leadership, GreenJams has grown from a lab-scale innovation into a nationally recognized company with two manufacturing units in Visakhapatnam and Mysore. The company has successfully executed 16 commercial projects across India, with Agrocrete® structures demonstrating high durability, including resilience to cyclones and significant reductions in energy consumption.

His ability to bridge scientific innovation with real-world implementation has positioned GreenJams as a leading player in sustainable construction. The company’s work has been internationally recognized through its selection by the World Economic Forum’s Uplink platform, where Mr Jami represented GreenJams as part of its largest-ever delegation of climate innovators. A civil engineer with a background in environmental forensics and a PhD in sustainable materials, his work has been published widely and cited over 340 times in international academic literature. Mr. Ravi Kaushik is an aerosol scientist from IIT Bombay and the Founder of AIRTH, a pioneering clean-tech startup reimagining how we breathe indoors.

With years of research on air pollution and three patents to his name, he has collaborated with India’s top institutes – IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, and IISc Bangalore – to translate deep science into practical solutions. His work is driven by a striking realization: we spend nearly 90% of our lives indoors, and if we live to 100, we breathe “AC air” for almost 90 years of our lives. This insight fuels his mission to make indoor air healthier, safer, and more affordable.

At AIRTH, Mr. Kaushik has led the development of breakthrough innovations, including future-ready AC filtration systems that convert existing air conditioners into powerful air purifiers at 75% lower cost than traditional solutions. Mr Sunil Desai is a distinguished mechanical engineer with over 30 years of experience, both in India and internationally. His career has been marked by leadership in design, engineering, manufacturing, and project execution across diverse industries. Known for delivering complex projects under challenging conditions, he has worked extensively with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders, ensuring compliance with varied quality standards and successfully managing high-impact projects.

 As a key figure at Richfield Engineering India Private Limited, Mr Desai plays a pivotal role in overseeing the design, detailed engineering, manufacturing, and project services, including construction and maintenance. His work is heavily focused on environmental sustainability, collaborating with technology partners to deliver innovative solutions in process equipment, environmental management, material handling systems, and material recovery and recycling. Notably, he has made significant strides in reducing dust emissions within the mineral and mining sectors.

Mr Desai commitment to a cleaner environment extends beyond his professional responsibilities. He is an active member of prominent industry associations, including the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME), the Material Recycling Association of India (MRAI), the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), and the Material Handling Engineers Association (MHEA). Through these affiliations, he continues to advocate for sustainable practices and cleaner industrial operations, reflecting his deep passion for environmental stewardship.

Dr Sujit Kumar Bajpayee joined Forest & Climate Change, Govt. of India in September 2019 as Joint Secretary under Lateral Entry Policy of Govt. of India. Before joining Govt of India, he served around 19 years in NHPC, a Central PSU under Ministry of Power, dealing with all sustainability issues during planning, implementation and operation of hydropower projects across the country. 

Deep understanding of the issues involved, positive outlook, problem solving acumen and strong adaptability to multicultural work environment have been my forte so far. Have been heading several key divisions in MoEFCC including Impact Assessment, Coastal Regulation Zone, Policy & Law, Wetlands, PARIVESH, Ease of Doing Business, Compliance Monitoring, etc. Have been at the forefront of pathbreaking systemic reforms undertaken by Govt in respect of environment and CRZ clearance in last about 3-4 years. Have also led the development of single window portal for green clearance, Parivesh 2.0, with GIS based revolutionary features like Know Your Approval and Decision Support System. Have also had opportunity to lead some other important divisions like Environment Education, Biodiversity, etc. Have been National Focal Point for Convention on Biological Diversity and currently National Focal Point for Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.

His international exposure has honed his ability to navigate diverse market dynamics, adapt strategies to varied cultural and regulatory landscapes, and foster strong cross-border partnerships that accelerate business growth.

His expertise in air filtration technology includes deep knowledge of ISO 16890, BIS, and other global filtration standards, enabling the delivery of high-performance, compliant solutions. Mr Sharma is the Whole Time Director – EHS is a Director on the Board of DCM Shriram Ltd for last 9 years. He is also the Chairman of Risk Management Committee of the Company. He is a 1st rank holder and Gold medalist in Chemical Technology from UDCT [now Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai]. He also possesses Diploma in Safety from Regional Labor Institute, Kanpur and also NEBOSH IGC in Occupational Health & Safety with distinction. He has also undergone GRI certified training on Sustainability Reporting Standards and is a CII Certified Sustainability Assessor. He is also a Certified Corporate Director by Institute of Directors (IOD). 

He started his career with Gharda Chemicals as Trainee Engineer in manufacturing and worked with Ranbaxy, Jubilant and Syngenta. He is a member of the CII’s National Committee on Environment, IBBI Advisory group, Clean Air CEO Forum and other committees. He has more than 35 years of experience in Agrochemicals and Pharmaceutical companies in manufacturing, EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) and Sustainability. 

An enterprising techno-commercial leader, Mr. Bansal, an engineer graduate, has 37 years of experience in the real estate industry and has led Unity Group to be one of the leading Real Estate Companies in Delhi. His core strength lies in Retail Planning and Zoning, Architectural Direction, Project Execution and Construction Technology. An avid reader and traveler, Mr. Bansal has a very strong business sense & a foresight that keeps him ahead in the changing times.

Under his leadership, Unity Group has developed and delivered more than 15 Million Sq Ft of Developments in Delhi which include multiple retail and commercial developments and currently working on more than 20 Million Sq Ft of Real Estate Projects in Delhi including one of the biggest residential projects in Delhi, one of the biggest commercial projects in Delhi and one of the biggest private healthcare projects in Delhi.

Mr. Shekhar Singh, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of from the 2012 batch, currently serves as the Municipal Commissioner of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). 

His work primarily focuses on understanding urban challenges and decoding solutions through which cities can play a proactive role in addressing climate change and drive sustainable development. Under his stewardship, PCMC has witnessed remarkable progress across various domains. His efforts in the Swachh Survekshan 2022-2023 significantly improved PCMC’s national ranking, underscoring his dedication to urban cleanliness and sustainability. He has been instrumental in pioneering financial innovations for PCMC, overseeing the issuance of a Rs. 200 crore Municipal Bond. His efforts in skill development and urban innovation have earned PCMC national and international recognition, including the Bloomberg Initiative for Cycling Infrastructure award and the Medal of Honor for Urban Innovation at the Guangzhou International Awards.

Under his guidance, Pimpri Chinchwad has achieved significant milestones in sustainability and e-governance. The city received a platinum certification from the Indian Green Building Council and a Silver Award in the ‘District Level Initiatives in e-Governance’ category under the ‘E-Governance Scheme 2023-24. He has also pioneered the establishment of Sustainability Cell in PCMC to foster steps for social, environmental and economic improvement for transforming Pimpri Chinchwad into a safe, vibrant and sustainable city. The Cell is organized into six thematic areas, namely, Environment Conservation, Sustainable Transport and Mobility, Sustainable Urban Landscape, Disaster Resilience, Social Development and Inclusion as well as Sustainable Finance and Innovation. In 2025, under his leadership, PCMC has been ranked 2nd among all Municipal Corporations in Maharashtra in the final evaluation of the Chief Minister’s 100 Days Action Plan, conducted by the Quality Council of India.  

His visionary leadership continues to drive Pimpri Chinchwad towards becoming a model city in urban development and sustainability. His innovative initiatives, strategic leadership, and commitment to sustainable development have not only elevated the cities he has served but have also set benchmarks for excellence in governance. 

Dr. Debolina Kundu, Director of NIUA, has over 30 years of professional experience in the field of development studies. She has worked as a consultant with the ADB, LSE, IIDS, UNDP, UNFPA, UNESCAP, KfW, GIZ, Urban Institute, Washington, and East-West Centre Honolulu on issues of urbanization, migration, urban development policies, municipal finance, social protection, governance, and exclusion.

At NIUA, Dr. Kundu is the Country Investigator – India for the GCRF Centre for Sustainable Healthy and Learning Cities and Neighbourhoods supported by UK Research and Innovation and leading several projects supported by UNICEF, World Bank, and KFW.

She is a member of various committees formed by the central and state governments, including the Fifth Delhi Finance Commission. She has several articles published in books and journals. She recently edited a book on National Urban Policies (Springer) and is currently working on a ‘Handbook on Urbanisation in the Global South’ and books on urban policies and inequality. She is the chief editor of journals – Environment and Urbanisation, Asia (SAGE) and Urban India (NIUA). She was a Co-Chair of the Task Force on LiFE, Resilience, and Values for Wellbeing under G20 Think Tank initiative.

Mr Gaurav Mathur is the Lead Business Development Manager for the Commercial Building Services (CBS) segment at Grundfos India. In his role, he is responsible for CBS segment’s business development of HVAC and water solutions.

Mr Mathur has over 26+ years of industry experience covering sales, business development and channel management. He has been involved in initialisation of innovative products in air conditioning, pressure boosting, solar, water supply and wastewater products for Grundfos in India and focuses on water and energy conservation. 

He serves as a Board of Governors (BOG) Member in ASHRAE India Chapter and CWC (Chapter Working Committee) Member in ISHARE Delhi Chapter, contributing his expertise in digitalization and sustainable building services within the HVAC and water systems sectors.

He has a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Amravati University and a Post-Graduation Certificate in Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur. 

Mr Rajeev Agarwal is a dynamic entrepreneur and strategic leader with over two decades of experience in steering diversified businesses across India. As Co-Owner and Director of SM Group, a leading conglomerate headquartered in Guwahati, he has played a pivotal role in expanding ventures in construction steel, road chemicals, hospitality, and real estate. He is also the CEO of Bitchem Asphalt Technologies Ltd., a pioneering green road technology company committed to sustainable infrastructure development. Mr Rajeev is passionate about nation-building, actively contributing to policy-making, CSR initiatives, and regional development through industry federations like FINER. His leadership style emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and values-driven growth.

Ms. Mirza is an award-winning Actor, Green Entrepreneur, Founder of One India Stories, United Nations Secretary-General’s Advocate for Sustainable Development Goals & UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador. She has tirelessly leveraged her global platform to address diverse issues, including pollution, climate change, wildlife conservation, and gender rights. Her name in the BBC’s 100 Women List in 2023 highlights her dual impact in the realms of entertainment and activism. Her journey as a constantly evolving actor, human being, and a powerful voice for sustainability has made her a trailblazer and a role model for many.

Dr. Balakrishna Pisupati is an internationally renowned conservation and development specialist with close to three decades of experience working at national, regional and international levels, holding positions such as the Head of UNEP Environmental Policy Unit, Head Biodiversity and Governance Programme – UNEP, Vice-Chancellor, TransDisciplinary University (TDU), Senior Policy Fellow at Fridtjof Nansen Institute (FNI, Norway), Chairman, National Biodiversity Authority-Government of India (NBA, India), Coordinator, Biodiplomacy Programme at United Nations University (UNU-IAS, Japan), Head, Regional Biodiversity Programme for Asia at the World Conservation Union (IUCN, Sri Lanka), Head, Biodiversity and Biotechnology programme at the M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF, India). 

He is an invited Fellow of American Association of Advancement of Science, elected Fellow of Linnean Society London, invited member of Cambridge Commonwealth Society, Policy Fellow at Fridtjof Nansen Institute, Adjunct Fellow at Research Information Systems (RIS) – a think tank of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. 

With a passion for writing, he has published more than 200 research articles and reports on various issues of environment and development and has a keen interest in transdisciplinary studies.

Ms. Seema Arora pioneered the creation of services on Sustainable Development within CII. Her journey with CII began with engaging Indian Industry towards the run up to the Earth Summit in 1992. 

Seema Arora works with industry to build evidence & the business case for industry to invest in Sustainability and Climate Action.  She works with Industry and Government to develop policy instruments and curate collaborative initiatives across sector and stakeholders. She has created and incubated innovative alliances such as India CEO Forum on Clean Air, CII Climate Action Charter, India Plastics Pact, India Business and Biodiversity Initiative, and India Business and Disability Network etc.

Her portfolios in CII include Sustainable Development, Climate and Energy Transition, Circular Economy, Diversity, and inclusion.
