Business organizations have to work in an environment where there is a constant overlap of varied interests that need to be balanced for achieving organizational objectives. Businesses must maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct and corporate responsibility to ensure they act with integrity and transparency.
CII’s theme for the year 2016- 17 is “Building national competitiveness”, and one of its key enablers focuses on Corporate Integrity and Good Citizenship. We have always promoted good corporate governance and have launched a model code of conduct to guide members on ethical business practices.
CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development is implementing a project on “Promotion & Adoption of Responsible Business Practices by Corporates in India” under Global Siemens Integrity Initiative. The overall goal of the project is to sensitize, capacitive, and help the companies adopt responsible business practices and influence their supply chain, which would include the involvement of local stakeholders and dialogue with government agencies.
With a view to accentuating our reach, CII in partnership with International Anti-Corruption Academy (Vienna, Austria) is organizing an International Conference on “Striking the Right Balance: Integrating Ethical Business Practices” on 21st February 2017 at New Delhi.
