Clean Transport

Air pollution is one of the major man-made environmental risks to public health. To address the rising concerns of deteriorating air quality, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with NITI Aayog launched the 'Cleaner Air Better Life Initiative' in November 2016. This report has been finalized during the fourth meeting of the task force held on 29 November 2017, considering all the inputs received from the members. Personal and freight mobility are important aspects of economic development and therefore create a significant footprint on the natural environment, especially on the ambient air quality. Under CII-NITI Aayog 'Cleaner Air Better Life Initiative', the task force on clean transportation has undertaken a consultative process to identify seven areas of action towards mitigation of air pollution in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).
